Description

Orange is a citrus fruit consumed in high quantities all over the world in the natural and peeled forms and as a juice.

A vast number of promising proposals for the use of orange waste have been described in the literature. These include the use of the waste to produce fertilizer, essential oils, pectin, ethanol, industrial enzymes, single cell proteins, pollutant absorbents and paper pulp supplements (Siles et al., 2010).
